Bhimpur Police Station in Krishnanagar Block-I is located 16 km towards east from District Hqrs, Nadia. Asannagar under Bhimpur PS is a very old village where leader of Indigo and peasant Biswanath Bishe was hanged in 1808 after a show trial. Lalon Mela, a cultural fair, is held every year at nearby Kadamkhali ground in memory of Lalon Fakir- a prominent Baul saint and mystic where baul singers from both India and Bangladesh performs their mystic.
