The total area covered by Dhubulia police station is 134.74 sq. km. and the population is 139.020 lakh (2001 census). It has 5 km Indo-Bangladesh border. Dhubilia had the biggest tuberculosis hospital in Asia. During world war II, an army group No. 99 squadron of Royal Air Force was based in Dhubilia, runway of that abandoned air strip still exists. During partition of India in 1947, a good number of people from East Pakistan migrated to Dhubulia and settled there in several camps setup by the go.
