In the early hours of July 14, 2024, at approximately 1:30 AM, police personnel from Bhimpur Police Station, along with Deputy Superintendent of Police (IUCAW) Krishnagar Police District, and Circle Inspector Krishnaganj, Krishnagar Police District, conducted a raid on Korsuna village road under Bhimpur Police Station. Acting on information from a secret source, the police discovered a container being unloaded, suspected to contain contraband items. Additionally, two more vehicles and a motorcycle were present at the scene. However, the police managed to apprehend two suspects: Rajib Biswas (28), son of Nripen Biswas from Dharampur Thakurbari, PS Krishnaganj, Nadia, and Bapan Halder (35), son of Laxman Halder from Maheshpur Majherpara, PS Bhimpur, Nadia.Following standard procedures, the police searched the two suspects and their vehicles, discovering sixty-seven white plastic sacks containing a total of 20,000 bottles of Phensedyl cough syrup, which includes Triprolidine Hydrochloride and Codeine Phosphate.The arrested individuals will be presented before the court, and the police will request remand to facilitate the capture of other suspects and to recover additional narcotics.
