Tragedy struck in Krishnaganj on April 28, 2024, as a road accident claimed the life of Ratan Mondal. According to a complaint filed by his brother, Tapan Kr. Mondal, the incident occurred around 8:00 AM when Ratan was traveling to Krishnaganj bazaar on his motorcycle bearing registration WB52C1201.Reports indicate that a truck, bearing registration number WB/45-8621, collided with Ratan’s motorcycle from the rear near Durgapur Pirtala, allegedly due to reckless driving by the truck driver. The impact left Ratan critically injured, prompting his immediate referral to Kolkata NRS Hospital via Shaktinagar Hospital and Krishnaganj B.P.H.C.Despite medical efforts, Ratan succumbed to his injuries on the same day. The incident has left the Mondal family and the community in shock.
