Dhubulia, May 19, 2024 — A major betting racket centered around the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was uncovered by Dhubulia Police on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, SI Bamapada Mondal led a raid at a shop in Mayakol Charabattala Para, arresting Asim Ghosh (33), son of Sushanta Ghosh, for orchestrating the illegal activity.
The police seized four mobile phones from Ghosh’s possession, which contained betting apps such as BULLET444 and UNIVERSE CASINO, used for wagering on cricket, tennis, soccer, horse racing, and various card games like Teen Patti and Baccarat. Ghosh confessed to organizing the betting operations with accomplices who managed to flee the scene. The suspects used electronic devices for gambling, aiming for wrongful gain.
