In a decisive move, SI Gopal Sarkar of Tehatta Police Station, Nadia, along with a police force, thwarted a potential dacoity and apprehended two individuals.
The arrested persons were identified as Subir Majumdar @ Raki (33 years), hailing from Tehatta Tripurapara, and Rahul Bain, resident of Bainpara, Tehatta. The operation unfolded on April 9, 2024, around 00:05 hrs near Golakata More under PS-Tehatta.
During the raid, authorities seized two iron rods, one knife, one wooden stick, and one nylon rope from the possession of the accused individuals. The meticulous seizure was conducted following proper protocol.
The arrest occurred as the accused persons, accompanied by their associates, were allegedly preparing to commit dacoity in the nearby locality of Golakata area under PS Tehatta. Although seven to eight other accomplices managed to flee from the spot under the cover of darkness, Subir Majumdar and Rahul Bain were apprehended.
