In a proactive operation led by ASI Rintu Kr Das of Chapra Police Station, a significant breakthrough was achieved with the arrest of Palash Halder (32 years old), hailing from Bara Andulia Kalitalapara, PS Chapra. The arrest was made following a tip-off received around 02:45 hours on March 20, 2024.
The raid, conducted near the Bharat Gas Godown at Jidha, PS Chapra, resulted in the apprehension of Palash Halder. Upon his arrest, law enforcement officials seized one country-made improvised firearm along with one round of 0.303 live ammunition from his possession. Notably, Palash Halder failed to furnish any valid documents supporting the ownership of the seized items upon demand.
The swift action by the police has underscored their commitment to combatting illegal arms possession and ensuring public safety in the Chapra region. Further investigation into the matter is underway to ascertain the full extent of the individual’s involvement and any potential links to wider criminal activities.
