Kalpana Sharma, wife of the late Biswanath Sharma from Shimultala, Krishnagar, lodged a complaint with the Kotwali police station regarding a distressing incident. On March 20, 2024, between 18:30 and 19:00 hrs, Kalpana Sharma was allegedly assaulted by a group comprising Babon Das (also known as Sujit), Putul Das (spouse of Babon Das), Anita Das (wife of Raju Das), and Mamon Das (wife of Tapas Das), all residents of Shimultala, Krishnagar.
The assault, reportedly stemming from past grievances, involved physical restraint and the use of fists, blows, sticks, and bamboo sticks. Consequently, Kalpana Sharma sustained injuries, resulting in bleeding. She was promptly transported to Shaktinagar District Hospital for medical attention.
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, and efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects involved in this alarming incident.
