On April 29, 2024, at 18:15 hrs, authorities received a written complaint from Nazrul Islam Mondal, residing in Goyaldanga, PS Chapra. Mondal alleged that during the night of April 28/29, 2024, around 02:00 hrs, his residence was burglarized by unidentified individuals. Upon inspection, Mondal discovered missing gold and silver ornaments, along with a mobile handset from his room. Subsequently, Chapra Police Station initiated Case No. 424/24 under Section 380 IPC on April 29, 2024.
During the investigation led by IO ASI Rintu Kr Das and his team, two individuals, identified as Selim Sk, from Bara Balidanga, and Maruf Mondal, from Goyaldanga, were intercepted. The team successfully recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments, along with a sum of money, presumed to be from the sale of stolen items. Additionally, a motorcycle was seized from their possession.
