Two Arrested in Nadia for Alleged Dacoity Plot

In a proactive operation, SI Goutam Sarkar of Kotwali PS Nadia, along with police personnel, conducted a raid in Krishnagar Gohat, under PS Kotwali, Nadia, leading to the arrest of two individuals suspected of planning a dacoity. The arrested individuals were identified as Toton Das (35yrs) and Kailash Pramanick (38yrs), along with seven to eight others who managed to evade capture.During the raid, law enforcement recovered and seized one country-made firearm, two rounds of .303 bore live ammunition, and one iron rod from the possession of the apprehended suspects. The raid occurred on 04.04.2024 at 01:15 hrs based on actionable intelligence received by the complainant.Interrogation of the arrested individuals revealed their involvement in the alleged plot, which they confessed to. However, they failed to produce any valid documents supporting the seized arms and ammunition. The accused are believed to have been preparing themselves for the criminal act at the time of their apprehension. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
