Arrest Made in Palashipara: Heroin Seized in Raid Near Satikhali Bridge

In a significant development, Sub-Inspector Swarup Majhi of Palashipara Police Station, under Krishnagar Police District, filed a complaint against a single arrested individual, identified as Saddam Shaikh, aged 30 and son of Farijulla Shaikh from Boronaldah, Madrasa Para, Palashipara, Nadia.According to the complaint, on April 10, 2024, between 2:35 PM to 3:10 PM, acting on a credible tip-off, SI Majhi led a raid near Satikhali bridge, Palashipara PS, KPD. During the operation, law enforcement officials recovered a significant haul, including 303.8 grams of brown-colored globule-like substance suspected to be Heroin, packaged in a plastic packet. Additionally, authorities seized a mobile phone, cash amounting to Rs. 8830, among other items, from the possession of the accused.The seizure was conducted under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, with all necessary formalities duly followed. Saddam Shaikh was promptly arrested after the recovery, as he failed to provide valid documentation supporting his possession of the contraband.During interrogation, Shaikh confessed to procuring the narcotics from Bagbul Mondal, hailing from Boro Naldah Mondal Para, Palashipara, with the intention of selling it to another individual named Rono from Shantipur, PS Shantipur, in exchange for monetary compensation.
