A tragic incident unfolded on NH 34 near Palpara Panthatirtha Hotel, PS Kotwali, as a result of rash and negligent driving by the driver of a Mini Truck bearing Registration Number WB-89-3892. Tapan Bhuit (54yrs), son of the late Sudhir Bhuit from Palpara Paschim Bhatjangla, PS Kotwali, lodged a complaint regarding the incident.
According to the complaint, the unfortunate event occurred on 02.04.2024, around 08:00 hrs, when Tapan Bhuit’s elder brother, Subir Chandra Bhuit, was returning home. The Mini Truck collided with Subir Chandra Bhuit near Palpara Panthatirtha Hotel, resulting in severe injuries. Local residents rushed Subir Chandra Bhuit to Saktinagar District Hospital, where the attending Medical Officer declared him brought dead due to the injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the offending vehicle is accused of reckless driving, leading to this tragic loss of life.
