In a recent development, Sri Pankaj Karmakar, Assistant Engineer and Station Manager at Krishnaganj CCC, WBSEDCL, has filed a complaint regarding unauthorized electricity usage for irrigation purposes. The incident occurred on April 2, 2024, around 18:30 hrs., when Karmakar and his team conducted an inspection at the property of Manoranjan Sarkar, son of Late Haripada Sarkar, located in Andulpota Muragacha, PS. Bhimpur, Nadia.
During the inspection, it was revealed that Manoranjan Sarkar had been utilizing electricity for agricultural irrigation without obtaining any permissions from the competent authority. The electricity was being directly hooked from the nearest LTOH (Low Tension Overhead) line of WBSEDCL. Despite interrogation, Sarkar failed to provide satisfactory answers or valid documents justifying his unauthorized usage of electricity.
