A significant development unfolded as Murutia Police Station filed a complaint against Hasan Biswas (25 yrs) of Kirtaniapara Paschim Sahebrampur, PS Jalangi, Dist. Murshidabad, following a narcotics raid. Acting on a tip-off, SI Kamtan Roy, Officer-in-Charge of Murutia PS, along with police personnel, conducted a raid near SKP brick field on Baniakandi to Shankhanagar Road under PS Murutia.
During the operation on 03.04.2024, at approximately 13:05 hrs, authorities recovered a total of 13 kg 100 grams of Ganja concealed in two nylon bags from Hasan Biswas’s possession. The necessary formalities under the NDPS Act were adhered to, and the seized articles were duly documented in a proper seizure list. Hasan Biswas was arrested in the presence of SDPO Tehatta, KPD, and BDO Karimpur-I KPD.
Despite demands, Hasan Biswas failed to produce any valid documents supporting the seized articles. Subsequent interrogation revealed his direct involvement in smuggling narcotics substances.
