Popi Ghosh, wife of the late Surojit Ghosh, has filed a complaint against the driver of a Maruti van with registration number WB-26R-1127, following a tragic incident on February 14, 2024. At around 2:25 PM, while Surojit Ghosh and his friend Prasenjit Debnath were returning home on a motorcycle in Gopalnagar, the Maruti van collided with them from behind due to reckless driving.
The impact caused both riders to lose control, resulting in a collision with a roadside tree. Surojit Ghosh and Prasenjit Debnath sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Karimpur Rural Hospital by locals. Despite medical efforts, Surojit Ghosh succumbed to his injuries at Behrampore Medical College & Hospital at approximately 4:35 PM the same day. Tragically, Prasenjit Debnath also passed away at the hospital on February 15, 2024, around 6:30 AM, due to injuries sustained in the accident.
