S.I. Tapash Kr. Ghosh from Mira Bazaar ROP, under Kaliganj PS, filed a complaint resulting in the arrest of two individuals, identified as Sohorai Munda (20 yrs) and Sunil Kumar Sandil (34 yrs). The duo, hailing from Siadih and Poradi PS-Kuchai respectively, were apprehended on March 31, 2024, between 17:25 to 20:45 hrs.
Following a tip-off, Ghosh, along with his team, conducted a raid near Bharatpur Calvert under Kaliganj Police Station. During the operation, the officers confiscated a nylon handbag containing approximately 2.005 kg of raw opium poppy wrapped in a transparent polythene packet from the possession of the accused.
The seizure was conducted under the supervision of Sri Abhijit Basu Mollick, CI Nakashipara KPD, and documented appropriately. The arrests and seizure mark a significant step in the ongoing efforts to curb illegal activities in the region.
