Kotwali Police Station’s SI Narayan Ch. Das, along with his team, successfully apprehended four individuals suspected of planning a dacoity in the area. The arrested individuals were identified as Sukhen Mondal @ Kala (25yrs), Sourav Ghosh @ Nepa (26yrs), Debabrata Talukder @ Subo (25yrs), and Bappa Pramanick @ Bombai (38yrs).
Acting on a tip-off received at 00:25hrs on March 26, 2024, the police conducted a raid at Krishnagar Rajbari Math, within the Kotwali PS jurisdiction. The accused were found assembled at the spot along with their associates, allegedly gearing up for a criminal activity.
During the raid, the police confiscated various weapons including iron rods, a Hansua, bamboo sticks, and a Bhojali from the possession of the arrested individuals. However, seven to eight other suspects managed to flee the scene under the cover of darkness.
Upon interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed to their involvement in the planned dacoity. The swift action by the police has prevented a potential criminal incident in the Kotwali PS area, ensuring the safety of the local community.
