In Krishnaganj, a significant breakthrough was made as SI Prokash Sikder of Krishnaganj Police Station lodged a complaint resulting in the arrest of Nayan Bala (20 Years), son of Narayan Bala from Kaikhali Battala PS Hanskhali. The complaint detailed an incident on 25.03.24 at 04.05 hrs., where acting on a tip-off, SI Prokash Sikder, accompanied by his team, intercepted a Bolero pick-up van bearing registration number WB25L3521. The vehicle was found to be loaded with 6000 bottles of Phensedyl.
Following the proper procedures outlined in the NDPS Act, the authorities seized the contraband and arrested Nayan Bala. Despite requests, Bala failed to produce any valid documentation for the seized articles. Upon interrogation, he disclosed that Abhijit of Bagula Sahapur PS-Hanskhali, the driver of the vehicle, along with two others, were involved in the smuggling operation. They were purportedly en route from Kolkata towards the Gede border under Krishnaganj PS Nadia.
This development marks a significant stride in the fight against illicit drug trafficking in the region, showcasing the effectiveness of proactive law enforcement efforts.
